Crimp Cross Section Analysis
The Crimp Cross Section Analysis program is a custom module of I-MEASURE PRO and I-MAX PLUS.
It is microscope software that automatically measures parameters such as crimp height, crimp width,
and wire compression ratio from terminal cross-section images.

Measurement Procedure
1. Check the wire specification.
When you select the conductor in Wire Management, the wire specification is displayed in the Wire Information window.

If it is a new material, the specification can be added in Wire Management.

2. Automatic Measurement

When you click the Automatic Measurement button, the results are immediately displayed on the image.
Measurement items: Crimp height, crimp width, compression ratio, conductor area
By clicking the Export to Excel button, the measurement results are transferred to the prepared report.
3. Manual Measurement

Details of Preprocessing for Automatic Measurement
In order to perform automatic measurement, preprocessing such as etching is required so that the harness area and the conductor area are clearly distinguishable to the eye.
If, even after preprocessing, the harness, conductor, and background are not clearly separated, manual measurement must be carried out.
The procedure for cross-section inspection is a type of image analysis. By following the steps below, the time required for measuring the same type of material can be reduced, and measurement errors between operators can be minimized.
Procedure >>
Click the Cross-Section Inspection button and perform a color space conversion to distinguish between the harness and the conductor.
When you click the Harness button, a grayscale image with transformed color coordinates is displayed. Test the available color conversion modes, and then select the one in which the luminance difference between the harness and the background is most distinct.

This completes the automatic detection of the harness area.
Once these conditions are set, they can be repeatedly applied to the measurement of the same type of material.
(For new materials, this process is required.)
3. When you click the Conductor button, a grayscale image with transformed color coordinates is displayed. Test the available color conversion modes, and then select the one in which the luminance difference between the conductor and the background is most distinct.

Click the Finish button to complete and exit the cross-section analysis process.
Option
When you click the Options button, the following dialog box will appear.

Define the properties of the lines and text displayed on the screen.
By clicking the Report Data button, you can edit the default data that appears in the report.
Large images can be resized and pasted into an appropriate space on the Excel sheet.
You can specify the folder where the reports (*.xls) are saved.
* Note
Due to system permission issues, the report output folder cannot be set to C:\. Please use another folder.
The original report file is located at C:[Program Installation Folder]\Section.xls.
If necessary, you can edit the contents of this file for use.
